Tony Alves is a nationally recognized architect of workforce development systems in the power delivery industry and a foundational leader behind large-scale craft training initiatives that have shaped modern lineworker education.
After building his career in the electrical line trade, Tony transitioned into training and leadership, where he became a Co-Founder of Northwest Lineman College’s Utility Training Services division and a principal architect of Northwest Lineman College’s formal Apprenticeship Program.

Together, these initiatives established structured, scalable workforce development systems that have contributed to the training and certification of more than 80,000 lineworkers worldwide.

As a Training Specialist, Tony delivered advanced classroom and field instruction aligned with utility performance standards and apprenticeship requirements.

As Senior Training Advisor, he led enterprise-wide curriculum design initiatives, audited and elevated instructional performance across campuses, and advised executive leadership and utility partners on workforce strategy, performance measurement, and apprenticeship alignment.

As Director of Curriculum, Tony directed the strategic development, analysis, and evaluation of training systems across multiple platforms. He built performance-based evaluation frameworks measuring knowledge, skill, and behavioral competency. He standardized instructional delivery models, led just-in-time technical training initiatives for craft and staff, and drove continuous improvement across student, apprentice, and customer outcomes.

Tony’s leadership has been defined by building scalable training infrastructure, formalizing apprenticeship rigor, and aligning craft development directly with utility operational standards.
